Murray Mower Manuals
This mower, the Murray 21' Low Wheel Mower, is a very good mower for the price. I had no trouble starting it when I first got it home but the last time I went to use it I had to pull 6 or 7 times before it started. I'll wait to see if that continues, as it may have just been a fluke that particular day. It mows very well and isn't too heavy, which is a huge point for me as I am a 71-year-old, crippled great-grandmother who simply refuses to give up and have someone else do all the mowing.
The only complaint I have with this mower is the location of where you check/fill the oil. It is in a space that's almost impossible to get to. I have to use a pair of pliers to open it and get a VERY flexible funnel to add oil as the space is so cramped a regular funnel won't fit. Apparently the people who designed and built this mower didn't have their collective heads screwed on right and certainly didn't try to add oil!! That said, I would recommend it if you have a flexible funnel or one with a very long spout. I bought this for a small yard, have had other lawnmowers last for 10 years but this one didn't last 10 months!
I am 55 years old, not new to lawn equipment, much experience of many years cutting ACRES of grass! This mower became increasingly difficult to start, changed oil, spark plug, gas, etc. I finally had it checked by a professional and it needed a new engine! To me, this is a piece of junk and a waste of my money!!! Wal-Mart used to carry Weedeater brand mowers and gas trimmers that would last for years! I haven't had that luck with the Murray brand whether mowers or trimmers! Two gas trimmers in garage now, one is 2 years old and other 6 months, both going out in the trash next week!!

A person shouldn't have to almost damage his or her back to get a piece of lawn care equipment running! And.if you're thinking 'maybe she's just out of shape,' not so!

I am height and weight proportionate and very physically active!!!! Bought this mower in April of 2017. Used it for 5 months then it would not stay running. Took it to the Briggs and Stratton repair shop recommended on the Briggs and Stratton web site for my area. I was told the problem was with the carburetor which is not covered by the warranty.
I paid to have it fixed. I use it 2 times after getting it repaired at the end of the season. Got it out this year to use. It will start but will not keep running after the gas from primer bulb burns up. Which is exactly what it did last fall when I had it worked on. Paid about 150$ for this mower and one year later I am buying a new mower.

Very frustrating and a waste of money! I have a medium sized yard and this mower did a great job has an attachable shoot to just push the grass out or you can mulch with it. Grass was about a good 8-9 inches high but mower went right through it with no problems and never stalled like some mowers would have, easy to assemble and after priming started on the second pull after that started first pull every time. No tools needed to assemble just take it out of the box, unfold handle and tighten wingnuts put cord through cord holder and your ready to go there are two nuts and bolts that come with it and not instruction where they go but they are for the bottom of the handle which I don't think need to be used but if you do you will need an adjustable wrench or a 1/2 inch open end to tighten these I left them off because I could see no way the handle needed them or that it would come off if not used but your choice, money well spent.
